PIO TV brings live telecast of Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas on mobile and Net

PIO TV, the only new media channel connecting people of Indian origin (PIO) and NRIs worldwide, is telecasting the conventions of Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas (PBD) 2009 and Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) 2009 live from Chennai from January 6-9, 2009.

“This global telecast enables PIOs and NRIs across the globe, including people in India to watch the conventions as live television streamed free to GPRS-enabled mobile handsets,” informed Munish Gupta, Chairman & Managing Editor, PIO TV. Mobile users can log in at www.piotv.com/pbd2009.

While the GOPIO Convention 2009 is being held on January 6-7, Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2009 will be held at the Chennai City Trade Center on January 8-9. PIO TV has been given special rights for the live coverage by the Ministry for Overseas Indian Affairs for the second year in a row. PIO TV and its affiliated companies in the US, India Broadcast Live, Inc, and MediaMantra, Inc, owned by Gupta, will conduct the live relay of the PBD 2009 and GOPIO 2009 conventions, powered by Akamai Technologies, a global leader in digital distribution, and supported by BSNL, India’s largest telecom company.
