Neo Sports shares cricket feed with DD

The controversy over private broadcaster Nimbus sharing live cricket feed with Doordarshan seems to have settled for now. The Nimbus-owned Neo Sports is providing a clean feed of the India-Bangladesh cricket series to DD without the logo of Neo Sports or commercials.

However, the feed provided to Raj TV and Vissa TV, which will carry commentary in Tamil and Telugu respectively, will carry the Neo Sports logo. The series includes three ODIs and two Test matches.

The marketing for the advertisements on DD is being undertaken by Nimbus, and the revenue will be shared on a 75:25 basis, in favour of Nimbus. Besides, the telecast is also being shown on DD Direct Plus, which is DD’s direct-to-home platform.

The live cricket coverage on Neo Sports includes a pre-, mid- and post-match show ‘Extra Cover’. Young cricketers Rohan Gavaskar and Hrishikesh Kanitkar are making their maiden appearance in the show and two known TV anchors Archana Vijaya and Neha Sareen are presenting the show.

Doordarshan began the series with the programme ‘Fourth Umpire’ from 8.30 am to 9 am. The matches will be telecast live from 9 am to 5 pm, with editions of ‘Fourth Umpire’ from 12.30 pm to 1.10 pm and 5 pm to 5.30 pm.
