Media Worldwide appoints actor Deepak Dewoolkar as Chief Creative Director, Sangeet Marathi

Adding to its portfolio, Media Worldwide is set to launch its fourth music channel, Sangeet Marathi which will cater specifically to the Marathi audience. The launch will take place in September, 2015.
The network already has Music India - a Hindi music channel, Sangeet Bangla – for popular Bengali music and Sangeet Bhojpuri that plays Bhojpuri music.

The channel launch comes as a part of the expansion plan of Media Worldwide for the coming year. Beginning with Sangeet Marathi, the company plans to launch a number of music channels for the Indian audience.
To oversee the delivery of quality content for the upcoming channel, Media Worldwide has roped in Deepak Dewoolkar as the Chief Creative Director of the channel. 

Dewoolkar is a known face in Marathi cinema and has played the lead part in Marathi movies like Vaat Pahte Punvechi, Janmadaata, Pratidav, Navra Majya Muthit Ga, Maza Saubhagya among 70 other films. He has also acted in more than 40 Hindi television series like Krishna and Jahan Pe Basera Ho. In addition to being an actor, Dewoolkar is also a director and filmmaker. His overall involvement with the Marathi entertainment industry spans more than 25 years.
Through his association with movies and performing arts, Deepak Dewoolkar’s understanding of the Marathi music industry will help Sangeet Marathi to expand its music horizons.

People revel in ethnic Marathi music like Natya Sangeet and Bharud that are not played on music channels generally. With Sangeet Marathi, we plan to handpick the choicest music to serve the numerous audience sets we are aiming to reach”.
