Lt Gen Ranbir Singh's press conference doubles ratings of Hindi-English News genre in week 39

According to the BARC Data for week 39, Director General of military operation Lt Gen Ranbir Singh and ministry of external affairs spokesperson Vikas Swarup’s joint press conference on Thursday morning on India conducting surgical strikes across the Line of Control (LoC) improved the viewership ratings English as well as Hindi News genre by 2 times. Interview with Pervez Musharraf improved viewership of Aaj Tak by 3 times. 

The special program on account of Mahalaya on Friday in the early morning time band improves viewership of Bangla GECs exponentially. On the Sports front, Paytm Test Series 2016 Live - India vs New Zealand on STAR Sports 1 & STAR Sports 3 fetched impressive ratings on all four days across the two test matches.

Director General of military operation Lt Gen Ranbir Singh and ministry of external affairs spokesperson Vikas Swarup’s joint press conference on Thursday morning on India conducting surgical strikes across the Line of Control (LoC) improved the viewership ratings English as well as Hindi News genre by 2 times. The Hindi News genre garnered 181705 impressions ‘000s in week 39 with respect to the previous four weeks’ average ratings of 88443 impressions ‘000s.And, the ratings of the English News genre rose to 484 impressions ‘000s in week 39, the previous four weeks’ average of which were 194 impressions ‘000s.

The viewership of Aaj Tak tripled with the telecast of interview with Pervez Musharraf on Tuesday (22:35-23:00). The ratings grew to 1,166 impressions ‘000s in week 39 that were 385 impressions ‘000s in the previous four weeks.

Special Program on account of Mahalaya on Friday in the early morning time band improves viewership of Bangla GECs. The ratings of Colors Bangla (04:59-07:28) improved by 345 times from the previous four weeks’ average ratings of 1.7 impressions ‘000s to 588.1 impressions ‘000s in week 39. The viewership of DD Bangla (05:30-06:42) saw a hike of 290 times i.e, 473.8 impressions ‘000s in week 39 from an average of 1.6 impressions ‘000s in the previous four weeks. The ratings of Zee Bangla (05:00-09:00) grew by 134 times in week 39 to 1711 impressions ‘000s with respect to previous four weeks’ average ratings of 13 impressions ‘000s. And Star Jalsha (05:00-08:00) improved by 19 times from the previous four weeks’ average ratings of 104 impressions ‘000s.

Paytm Test Series 2016 Live - India vs New Zealand on STAR Sports 1 & STAR Sports 3 fetched impressive ratings on all four days across the two test matches. In the first Test match, on Saturday (09:05-16:54), Sunday (09:06-17:06)  and Monday (09:06-13:00) the channels garnered 2,471 impressions ‘000s, 3,901 impressions ‘000s and 2,190 impressions ‘000s respectively. In the second Test Match on Friday (09:20-16:44), the channels got 2,220 impressions’000s.
