Jaya TV’s ‘Jack Pot’ nears 250 episodes; to launch more game shows

Jaya TV’s game show ‘Jack Pot’ would be nearing its 250th episode in June. Tamil actress Khushboo has been anchoring the show since its inception and the show is the Tamil entertainment channel’s highest rated programme. Jaya TV sees it as one the most enduring knowledge-based game shows on air, which offers wholesome family infotainment. Buoyed by the success of the game show and the potential of the genre, the channel is all set to unveil an array of game shows in the near future.

“It is not often that a television enjoys a successful, uninterrupted run of 250 episodes, and that too, with the same producer, channel, anchor and even sponsor,” Murali Raaman, Vice-president, Programming and Operations, Jaya TV, said.

Raaman further said that the channel would be launching more game shows, details of which would be disclosed at an appropriate time.

“The whole idea is to sustain the interest of the viewing public. They need to be able to relate to what is being asked on-screen and attempt answering those questions while sitting in their homes,” Raaman explained.

Besides an array of game shows, Jaya TV plans to launch a reality show for children ‘ITC Jaya TV Little Masters’ that would provide a platform for children to display their singing and dancing talents. The channel will also soon come up with another film-based programme ‘Hasini Pesum Padam’, which will be hosted by actress Suhasini Maniratnam.
