INX Media’s NewsX news channel goes on air from March 27

The much hyped and awaited news channel from INX Media’s stable, NewsX, was launched on March 27. Karan Thapar’s company ITV is the Editorial Advisor for NewsX, while Arup Ghosh is its Newsroom Head.

Commenting on the launch, Indrani Mukerjea, Chairperson, INX News, said, “NewsX was launched on March 27, 2008, at 9 am. March 2007-08 has been a most interesting year for INX. We have achieved all that we had planned and set out to achieve so far. 9X and 9XM are No. 6 and No. 7 channels in Hindi GEC in C&S 4+ with 68 and 64.5 GRPs, respectively. Also, 9XM and 9X are No. 4 and No. 6 with 90 and 84 GRPs, respectively, in C&S 15-24 years. All this have been in a year’s time from Ground Zero, starting March 1, 2007, with one desk and one peon. 2008 is the year for INX and we will do everything to make it the most successful and promising enterprise in the country.”

Thapar’s advisory services comprise a review of progress to date and consultancy on future editorial development of the channel.
