Industry luminaries to throw light on effective marketing of TV content

PromaxBDA is bringing together those passionately engaged in the marketing of television and video content, inspiring creativity and driving innovation.

The two-day event, packed with informative sessions, will be held on May 29 and May 30 at JW Marriott in Mumbai.

A session on ‘Making TV commercials for a multi-screen environment’ will take place. This session will throw light on how TV used to be the go-to channel in every home and it was watched by all, but the viewing trend has shifted with the proliferation of PCs, smartphones, tablets, IPTVs, and games consoles. The array and diversity of new-media products, channels and platforms and consumers’ decreasing reliance on a single media source have altered the notion of traditional TV, and radically changed consumer viewing behavior and media consumption habits. This has also changed the way advertising messages are consumed by the viewers. They can skip these messages, respond to them, participate in them, share them and even ‘save’ them for future viewing.

This session explores how producers of television commercials are responding to this change in the environment.

The panelists in the discussion will include filmmakers, creative directors and digital media professionals such as Roopak Saluja, Founder and Managing Director, Bang Bang Films; Sonal Dabral, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer, DDB Mudra Group; Carlton D’Silva, Chief Creative Officer, Hungama Digital Media Entertainment; Chaaya Baradhwaaj, Founder-MD, BCWebWise; E Suresh, Founder and Director, eeksaurus; Shirsha Guha Thakurta, Director, Native; Ayappa KM, Director, Footcandles. It will be moderated by media veteran Sunil Kumar, President, exchange4media Group.

PromaxBDA, in association with exchange4media, will also be hosting a CEO Luncheon on ‘The Wonder Years: What Careers in Marketing Taught Television’s Top Executives’. Media’s most accomplished leaders will discuss professional life lessons, reveal individual career pathways and give insight on how marketing and promotions guided them on their road to success. Annurag Batra, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief, exchange4media Group will moderate the session.
