HBO to celebrate Potter mania with ‘Harry Potter Marathon’

HBO is celebrating ‘Harry Potter Marathon’ on July 8 with three Harry Potter movies – ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’, ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’, and ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’, back-to-back from 10 am to 7 pm. The marathon will conclude with a sneak peek into the making of the latest Harry Potter adventure ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix’ on First Look on the same day at 7 pm.

Starring Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, the fantasy ride continues as HBO brings ‘Harry Potter Extravaganza’ every Friday at 9 pm as HBO Friday Blockbusters for the month of July. The first of the series, ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’ will be aired on July 13, followed by ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’ on July 20, and ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’ on July 27.

HBO has acquired licensing deals with four Hollywood studios -- Paramount, Sony Pictures Entertainment (Columbia/TriStar), Universal and Warner Bros. -- to have some of the Hollywood movies premiered under these banners.
