Disney Channel says ‘Kya Mast Hai Life’; lines up more summer specials

With summers more or less here and school exams over, Disney Channel is gearing up with a fresh line-up. As part of its summer specials, the channel is launching a new show, ‘Kya Mast Hain Life’, from April 27, which will be aired Monday to Friday.

‘Kya Mast Hai Life’ is targeted at the tween audience in the 7-12 age group under the banner ‘Oye Summer Summer Oye’, which is slated to be the biggest summer event on Disney Channel. The channel has roped in SOL to produce the show.

Antoine Villeneuve, Senior VP and MD, Walt Disney Television International India, said, “‘Kya Mast Hai Life’ is a kids’ driven show with a strong focus on tweens as this lot of audience have not been addressed yet. A simple reason behind the launch is that it is summer time and the best time to reach these kids. This show is local, and India is an important market for us.”

In a prepared statement, Fazila Allana, MD, SOL, said, “This is our first fiction show. SOL has primarily been an expertise in non-fiction programming and television events and we look forward to establishing success with this show as well.”

The other summer specials lined up on Disney Channel include ‘Hannah Montana Season 3’, new episodes of ‘Suite Life on Deck’, ‘Sonny With a Chance’ and ‘Aaron Stone’. The kids’ channel has also lined up some new movies such as ‘Bolt’ and ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest’.
