Digital Media Convergence beefs up team, appoints new content and revenue heads

Digital Media Convergence Ltd (DMCL), the recently formed digital arm of Zee Telefilms, is seeing some action with a new Content Head and Revenue Head coming place. While the revenue responsibility has been given to Satyabrata Das, Ramon Chibb will handle content.

For Das, this is a new assignment within the Zee Group. In his new role, he is expected to take care of the revenue streams (New Media) at DMCL in the capacity of AVP, Convergence. Speaking on the new assignment, he said, “Technology was a personnel interest from early 2000, when I was working with Ortel Communication and was the editor of their group magazine.”

Das has also worked as Channel Promotion Head for ETV Bangla and ETV Oriya. He further said, “The transformation in the digital space has already begun. Digital media technology, convergence, regulatory reforms, interactive TV, new revenue streams, global reach, e-distribution, repackaged content – that’s the way you connect with your audience, and it is very challenging. In today’s competitive landscape, it’s a challenge to find ways to implement new business models, grow revenue streams, reinforce customer relationship and get more mileage out of the existing content – the digital space is a long way to go.”

Ramon Chibb has joined Zee Telefilms as the Head of Content (New Media) at DMCL. He comes from NGC Network (India) Pvt Ltd, where he was Vice-President (Programming and Production) for their two channels – National Geographic Channel and The History Channel.
