Corrigendum

This is with reference to the Article titled ‘NBA accuses BARC of releasing corrupt, inflated data’ published on our website on May 19, 2017. The following is a clarification to the statement in line 14 of the said Article.

In line 14, the following text appears:

“Earlier, despite accusations of Republic TV being available on multiple logical channel numbers (LCNs), BARC awarded them the top spot in the English news category with 2117 impressions (000s). It was followed by Times Now with 1148 impressions (000s).”

This should read:

“BARC’s data that ranked Republic TV as the most watched English news channel was released in spite of NBA’s request to withhold release of its report pending the resolution of the issue of multiple channel numbers.”

This is with reference to the Article titled ‘The First Crisis Before BARC’ published on our website on May 22, 2017. The following is a clarification to the statement in para 2 of the said Article. http://www.impactonnet.com/node/5326

In para 2, the following text appears:

“While the broadcasters, under the aegis of the News Broadcasters Association (NBA), alleged that Republic TV is available on multiple logical channel numbers (LCNs) and BARC has still awarded them the top spot in the English news category, BARC in a statement on Friday maintained that for channels having same watermark on more than one LCN, viewership gets aggregated and reported as a single channel and not multiple channels in the BARC system.”

This should read:

“While the broadcasters, under the aegis of the News Broadcasters Association (NBA), alleged that Republic TV is available on multiple logical channel numbers (LCNs), BARC in a statement on Friday maintained that for channels having same watermark on more than one LCN, viewership gets aggregated and reported as a single channel and not multiple channels in the BARC system.”
