Colors, Zee Anmol claim top spot in urban, rural markets respectively in week 44

According to BARC data for week 44 (29 October -4 November, 2016), Colors continued to lead the urban markets followed by Star Plus at no.2 and Sony SAB at no.3. Sony Pal stepped up a spot to no.8 while Zee Anmol slipped a spot to acquire the ninth spot. As far as the rural markets are concerned, Zee Anmol remained to be the top channel followed by Sony Pal at no.2. Rishtey and Star Utsav exchanged their previous week’s positions and acquired third and fourth spots respectively.

Urban Ratings:

Colors remained to be the most watched channel of the urban markets although it lost some viewership ratings from 454 million ratings in the previous week to 430 million in week 44.

Star Plus stayed at no.2 with 385 million ratings, less than previous week’s 440 million ratings.

Sony SAB also held on to the third spot with 287 million ratings, almost similar to that of previous week.


Sony Entertainment Television, with 273 million ratings, stood at no.4. The channel had 272 million ratings in the previous week.

At no.5 stood Zee TV with 255 million ratings, less than previous week’s 269 million ratings.

The sixth spot was acquired by Life OK with 227 million ratings. The channel had 231 million ratings in the previous week.

&TV stood at no.7 with 134 million ratings, less than previous week’s 130 million ratings.

Sony Pal stepped up a spot to no.8 with 121 million ratings. The channel had 109 million ratings in the previous week.

Zee Anmol slipped to the ninth spot with 100 million ratings. The channel was at no.8 in week 43 with 113 million ratings.

Rishtey stayed at no.10 with improved ratings of 96 million, the channel had 90 million ratings in week 43.


Rural Ratings:

Zee Anmol continued to lead the rural markets with 336 million ratings. The channel had better ratings of 387 million in the previous week.

Sony Pal remained at no.2 with 324 million ratings, higher than previous week’s 322 million.

Rishtey stepped up a spot to acquire the third spot with 296 million ratings, higher than previous week’s 295 million.

Star Utsav slipped to the fourth spot with 294 million ratings, less than previous week’s 306 million.

At no.5 stood Colors with 207 million ratings, less than previous week’s 228 million.

The sixth spot was acquired by Star Plus with 194 million ratings, less than week 43’s 220 million.

At no.7 stood Zee TV with 193 million ratings. The channel had 206 million ratings in the previous week.

Big Magic climbed up a spot to acquire the eighth spot in week 44 with 146 million ratings, higher than previous week’s 129 million.

Life OK slipped a spot and stood at no.9 with almost similar ratings of 139 million as week 43.

Sony Entertainment Television stood at no.10 with 130 million ratings.
