Colors & History go HD; CNBC TV18 to launch HD channel CNBC-TV18 Prime

This Diwali, Sun 18 has added three channels - Colors, CNBCTV18 Prime and History Channel in high-definition formats.

CNBC-TV18 will be launching a new premium business news service, ‘CNBC-TV18 Prime HD’, focused on the needs of India’s rapidly expanding investor and financial services community. To be available in addition to the existing CNBC-TV18 channel, ‘CNBC-TV18 PRIME HD’ will be broadcast on DTH platforms.

Colors HD and CNBCTV18 Prime HD services will be running ad free in the first phase of launch and thus audiences embracing High-Definition technology can not only now watch their favourite shows and events in high picture and sound quality but also enjoy the experience without breaks, heralding a new era of uninterrupted television viewing.

Commenting on this service, Anil Uniyal, CEO – CNBC-TV18 & CNBC Awaaz, said, “CNBC-TV18 Prime HD is a product of key fundamental trends already evident in India. A rapid evolution of financial services, a rise in globalised mindsets and a growing investing culture coupled with the imminent growth in broadcast digitization and demand for premium content. This has allowed us to deliver a targeted service for the discerning business viewers, giving them the best in the markets with state of the art production values. With this new service in our portfolio, we hope to offer viewers almost a financial terminal like access on TV and a much wider bouquet of global programming, never accessed by Indian investors before.”
