CASBAA Satellite Industry Forum 2008 to be held in Singapore on June 16

The Cable & Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (CASBAA) is holding the eighth CASBAA Satellite Industry Forum 2008 in Singapore on June 16. Themed ‘Ahead of the Curve’, the Forum, which acts as a curtain-raiser to the CommunicAsia and BroadcastAsia trade shows in Singapore, has more speakers and delegates than ever before.

The Satellite Industry Forum provides a unique opportunity for key industry players to exchange information relevant to the industry’s development in Asia. David McGlade, CEO, Intelsat, and Dan Goldberg, CEO, Telesat, are the keynote speakers this year.

The various panels in the Forum would examine issues like new satellite applications and technologies; what major customers want from satellite operators; is the satellite sector listening to customers; how much input do clients want in the spacecraft design process; the migration process of military technologies to commercial deployment; regulatory areas that the satellite industry needs to watch; whether market access is still a problem in Asia; and how satellite operator CEOs can keep the industry on the move.

Among the featured speakers are Laureen Ong, COO, STAR Group; Amitabh Kumar, Director-Corporate, Zee Networks; Shardul Shroff, Managing Partner, Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A. Shroff & Co.; and Joslyn Read, Chairman, Satellite Industry Association.
