Big B to host a new big prize game show

Star India is bringing Amitabh Bachchan back in October this year to host a new big-prize game show. According to soruces, Kaun Banega Crorepati might not be aired again, though it was scheduled to be re-launched in June.

The network has appointed a UK-based agency, Chatter Box, to work it out. According to sources, anything that replaced Kaun Banega Crorepati would have Amitabh Bachchan as the anchor since the superstar’s contract was for another 85 episodes. Bachchan was contracted for 390 episodes, of which he completed 305.

Chatter Box is an agency that designs and markets concepts and formats of shows. It licenses them to production houses and satellite networks if they are interested in the concepts and want to adapt them.

According to sources, it is believed that Siddharth Basu’s Synergy Communications, which provided content for Kaun Banega Crorepati when the show went on air in July 2000, would be producing the new show as well. Synergy Communications produced the adapted version of The Weakest Link — Kamzor Kadi Kaun, hosted by Neena Gupta.
