Beret Media to launch news channel 'India Crime'

Beret Media is all set to introduce a news channel and a magazine. The organisation will launch the channel in October this year. The magazine was already released week with a print run of 40000 copies.

The name of the channel as well as the magazine is ‘India Crime’. Both the channel and magazine will focus on crime stories around the country. Beret Media is also planning to go regional to tap the regional language audience.

Talking to exchange4media, Rahul Mittal, CEO, Beret Media, said, “Our focus will be a bit different and we’ll not only look for breaking news. We will follow up the story and analyse it till the end.”

He also added, “Crime is not only about fraud and dacoits but it has shifted to IT sector, financial frauds, mobile network and banking. We have to focus more on these beats.”

Talking about the market, he said, “Our survey showed crime is a subject that needs follow up. We will target advertisers from the entire sector.”

He also added, “Print is going down recently but topics need deep analysis, we will go in depth and offer a different product all together.”

The group has appointed senior journalist Sanjay Vohra as Managing Editor. Alok Pande has also joined India Crime as Resident Editor. He will take care of Lucknow operation. He was previously with Zee News as bureau chief in Lucknow.
