BARC Ratings: Aaj Tak and Times Now continue to lead news channels pack

BARC data for week 19 (May 9 – 15, 2015) HSM NCCS 1 lakh+ Household data ratings (000’s) reveals the top channels in different genres.

In the Hindi News genre Aaj Tak leads with a rating of 14 million. It is followed by ABP News with 12.9 million in second place. In close third is India TV with a rating of 12.5 million.

In the English News genre Times Now leads with a rating of 378 thousand. Headlines Today is at No.2 spot with rating of 296 thousand. NDTV 24x7 came in at No.3 with ratings of 236 thousand.

In the English Business News genre ET Now is at No.1 spot with ratings of 79 thousand. CNBC TV18 comes in next with ratings of 68 thousand, followed by Bloomberg TV which brought in ratings of 32 thousand.

In the English entertainment Comedy Central topped the list with ratings of 181 thousand. It was followed by Zee Café with ratings of 166 thousand and AXN came in third with ratings of 113 thousand.

In the sports genre Sony Max continues to dominate the charts with IPL season 8 still attracting large audiences. Sony Max got in ratings of 187 million. It was followed by sister network channel Sony SIX with ratings of 52 million. Ten Sports came in third with ratings of 15 million.

The kids genre had Nick on top with ratings of 70 million. Pogo came in close second with ratings of 67 million and Disney Channel came in at No.3 with 52 million.

In infotainment, Discovery came in at No.1 with ratings of 3.7 million. NGC came in next with ratings of 2.2 million, while Animal Planet was next with ratings of 2.1 million.

Among the Hindi Movies genre Zee Cinema is at No.1 spot with ratings of 75 million. It is followed by Star Gold with ratings of 72 million and Movies OK with ratings of 60 million.

English movies genre sees Movies Now at No.1 position with 1.6 million. Star Movies comes in next with 1.1 million and Sony PIX at No.3 spot with 1.0 million.

In the music genre Mastii is at No.1 spot with 16 million, followed by Bindass Play with 14 million. MTV is at No.3 spot with 13 million.
