BARC Ratings: 1st phase election campaign & flyover collapse in Kolkata fuels 73 % hike in Bangla News

In week 13 (26March -1 April, 2016) of BARC ratings  the Bengali News genre went up by 73 per cent on account of the end of first phase of election campaign and the collapse of the flyover in Kolkata.  The previous eight weeks average rating of the Bengali News genre was 54384 which rose to 94022 in week 13.

The telecast of musical talent show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ took the Saturday:21:29 – 22:36 slot up by 65 per cent. The slot saw a rise in ratings in week 13 to 5760 from 3495 in week 12.

The telecast of ICC Women's World T20 India 2016 West Indies vs India on Star Sports 2 took the slot up by 7 times. The Sunday15:20 - 18:27 slot, went up from 206 in week 12 to 1389 in week 13.

The telecast of ICC World T20 India 2016 West Indies vs India - SF 2 matchon Thursday : 18:53- 22:41 witnessed rise in ratings of the three channels- Star Sports 1, Star Sports 3 and DD National. The ratings of the slot of Star Sports 1 rose from 872 to 24,982, for Star Sports 3 it increased from 1,431 to 33,516 and For DD National it rose to 26,776 from 1,843.

The ratings of the Sunday :19:20 - 22:56 slot of Star Sports 1, Star Sports 3 and DD National (week 12-week 13) rose from 6,010 to 23,500; 7,419 to 31,416 and 1,188 to 24,430 respectively.

Among the Hindi GECs, Star Plus, Colors and ZEE TV retained their top three spots like week 12. Zee Anmol remained at No.4. DD National which was at No.7 in the previous week climbed to the fifth spot. Sony Pal stepped down to the sixth spot. Life OK stood at No.7 followed by Rishtey at No.8. Star Utsav and Sony SAB acquired the ninth and tenth spots respectively. Sony TV and & TV remained at No.11 and No.12 respectively.
