AXN gears up for the World Rally Championship

In an attempt to present varied content, AXN will premiere the 2004 World Rally Championship. Foraying into the genre of lifestyle sports, it has lined up a special preview show on January 22 and 24. Monte Carlo’s first race will premier on January 30, 2004 at 9:00 p.m.

This year, the World Rally Championship spans across 16 locations as AXN brings to life a spectacular round of motor sporting extravaganza that would conclude in November 2004.

As per channel sources, AXN’s in-depth information on the cars, as well as profiles on every team and driver would give viewers a never-seen-before insight into the world of motor sports. Rohit Bhandari, Asst. VP, Marketing & Sales, SET India comments, “AXN is really proud to have acquired the global telecast rights of a premiere property like the World Rally Championship. We have consistently attempted to own the action and adventure domain and it is our attempt to be present in every genre synonymous with action. The World Rally Championship generates a frenzy and thrill amongst enthusiasts like no other, which is what AXN provides through all its programming pillars. Nothing pumps your adrenaline like 16 rounds of some nerve-wrecking motor sporting action over twisty tracks and the World Rally Championship promises to be just that.”
