Aaj Tak, Dainik Bhaskar and India Today jointly to conduct opinion polls

With the General Elections barely a fortnight away, Aaj Tak, Dainik Bhaskar and India Today have jointly commissioned an opinion poll to gauge the voting preferences of the electorate. The results would be aired on Aaj Tak on April 15, while Dainik Bhaskar and India Today would subsequently carry the results, said an official release.

Leading market research agency ORG MARG has been entrusted to conduct this opinion poll. As per the release, the poll would take into account feedback received from more than 51,000 respondents covering 189 parliamentary constituencies and 567 assembly segments in 22 states. "This is the first time ever that Jammu & Kashmir is being included in an exercise that endeavours to capture the political mood across the entire country," claimed the release.

Currently underway, the ORG MARG research team aims to provide the latest predictions on votes and seats for each party and their alliances at both national & state levels. The opinion poll would also provide leadership popularity rates for the various national and state leaders including the PM and the leader of the opposition. "It would be based on an array of psychographic and demographic considerations like gender, caste, class, income, education, etc and analyse the reasons behind the voting preferences of the people, the agenda of the political parties as well as the issues that would play a major role in the elections," it explained.
