Week 2 ratings: Zee TV and Life OK post marginal gains, Star Plus loses ground gained last week

In week 2 (January 4-10) of the new year, except for Zee TV and Life OK, all other top Hindi GECs saw a decline in their viewership ratings.

According to data sourced from TAM subscribers, this week saw leader Star Plus take the biggest decline compared with others. Its ratings slipped to 613 million GVTs from 654 in week one (December 28, 2014-January 3, 2015). This comes as a setback as the channel had recorded 596 million GVTs in the last week 52 of 2014.

Colors has partially lost the ground it had gained last week as its ratings slipped to 510 million GVTs from 520 in week 1. The channel had recorded 492 million GVTs in week 52 last year.

Zee TV saw marginal gains in its ratings this week. The channel’s ratings increased to 433 million GVTs from 430 in week 1. This comes on the back of the marginal gain it had last week when its ratings increased from 427 million GVTs in week 52, 2014.

Life OK too saw a minor rise in its ratings this week. It gained 339 million GVTs from 338 in week 1. The channel’s ratings have been rising steadily. It had climbed to 338 million GVTs from 329 in week 1.

SAB TV suffered a setback as its ratings dipped to 328 million GVTs in week 2 from 335 in week 1. A week earlier, it had managed to make good strides in the ratings charts from 320 million GVTs in the last week of 2014.

Sony Entertainment Television (SET) too suffered the same fate as its ratings slipped after a great gain in the previous week. In week 2, its ratings stood at 235 million GVTs down from 264 in week 1.

Zee Anmol saw a marginal decline in its ratings to 93 million GVTs in week 2 from 94 in week 1, while Star Utsav too slipped marginally to 87 million GVTs in week 2 from 90 in week 1.

Rishtey saw its ratings fall to 63 million GVTs in week 2 from 67 in the first week, while Big Magic gained marginally. Its ratings increased to 62 million GVTs in week 2 from 61 in week 1.

Zindagi saw its ratings climb up this week as it increased to 30 million GVTs from 28 in week 1. Sony Pal too fared well as its ratings shot up to 28 million GVTs this week from 26 the previous week.

Meanwhile, Sahara One saw its ratings slip from 13 million GVTs in week 1 to 10 in this week. Epic channel’s ratings went up to 7.6 million GVTs in week 2 from 6.3 in week 1. In the last week of 2014, its ratings were recorded at 5.3 million GVTs.
