 Kabali mania boosts Friday viewership of Southern regional news; Zee's'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa' Finale takes slot up 3x

According to BARC Ratings for week 29(16-22nd July, 2016), Rajnikanth starrer ‘Kabali’ enhanced the Friday viewership ratings of the southern regional news genre. The telecast of ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’- Grand Finale on Zee TV improved the ratings of the slot exponentially. Pro Kabaddi League S4 continued to garner impressive ratings in its fourth week. Also, the match played between Kolkata vs Goa in the Premier Futsal 2016 fetched highest impressions of the tournament for the week.

Rajnikanth starrer tamil movie ‘Kabali’ which released on July 22, 2016 improved Friday viewership of southern regional movies. The “Kabali Mania” improved the ratings of Tamil News by 37 per cent. The previous four weeks average ratings of the genre which were 13,547 impressions ‘000s rose to 18,509 impressions ‘000s. Similarly, The Kannada News genre improved by 29 per cent i.e, the ratings rose to 22,485 impressions ‘000s in week 29 versus the previous four weeks average of 17,440 I mpressions ‘000s. The Telugu News also saw a hike of 14 per cent in the viewership ratings. The previous four weeks average of the genre which was 60,401 impressions ‘000s rose to 68,970 impressions ‘000s in week 29. Likewise, the Malyalam News also experienced a spike in the ratings from an average of 9,359 impressions ‘000s in the past four weeks to 13,133 impressions ‘000s in week 29.

The telecast of ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’- Grand Finale on Zee TV on Sunday (18:59 - 22:29) took the slot up by 3 times. The ratings of the slot rose to 12,984 impressions ‘000s the previous four weeks aevrage of which stood at 4,337 impressions ‘000s.

The Grand Finale of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ on &TV on Sunday(20:30 - 22:39) took the slot up by 63 per cent. The previous four weeks’ average ratings of the slot which were 875 impressions ‘000s rose to 1,427 impressions ‘000s in week 29.

Match 7 played between Kolkata vs Goa in the Premier Futsal 2016 fetched 311 impressions ‘000s, highest among all the matches played in week 29. The third match, Mumbai vs Kochi, garnered 262 impressions ‘000s. The third most watched match was the Mumbai vs Chennai match which got 259 impressions ‘000s.

The matches which got the the next three best ratings were the Kolkata vs Bengaluru match which fetched 232 impressions ‘000s, Bengaluru vs Goa(match 4) with 216 impressions ‘000s followed by Goa vs Bengaluru (match 11) with 210 impressions ‘000s. Match no.6, played between Kochi vs Chennai got 193 impressions ‘000s. The match played between Kochi and Mumbai fetched 171 impressions ‘000s followed by Chennai vs Kochi (match 12). The least viewership ratings were garnered in the Bengaluru vs Kolkata match which got 148 impressions ‘000s. Premier Futsal 2016 airs on Sony SIX (SD + HD) , Sony ESPN (SD) and Sony Aath.

In Pro Kabaddi League S4 the viewership increased by 13 per cent in the fourth week over the average of the initial 3 weeks. In the first week of the telecast where 12 games were played, Pro Kabaddi League had fetched 7682 impressions ‘000s. Whereas, in the second week the average ratings of the 12 games stood at 9231 impressions ‘000s. In the third week where 11 matches were played, the league had fetched 8764 impressions ‘000s. Coming to the fourth week, the average ratings of the 12 games stood at 9884 impressions ‘000s. Pro Kabaddi League S4 airs on Suvarna Plus, Maa Movies, STAR Gold, STAR Sports 2(SD+HD), STAR Sports 3(SD+HD).

 

The telecast of Women's Kabaddi Challenge 2016 Live on Suvarna Plus, Maa Movies, STAR Gold, STAR Sports 2(SD+HD), STAR Sports 3(SD+HD) improved the ratings of the channel. Match no.5 and match no.6 played in week 29 fetched good impressions ‘000s. The fifth match, played between Storm Queens vs Ice Divas on Monday (21:05 – 21:56) garnered 5891 impressions ‘000s whereas, match no.6, Storm Queens vs Fire Brands, played on Wednesday (21:06 – 21:59) fetched 6210 impressions ‘000s in week 29.

The Day 1 of the ‘Seagram's Royal Stag Cup 2016 Live - West Indies vs India - 1st Test’ fetched 487 impressions ‘000s on Ten 3, 351 impressions ‘000s on Ten 2 and 17 impressions ‘000s on Ten 1 in week 29.
