Ashutosh quits Filmy; Shailesh Kapoor takes over as Business Head

Filmy, the movie channel from Sahara One Media and Entertainment Ltd, has a change in its senior management as Ashutosh, Business Head of the channel, has called it a day. Consequently, Shailesh Kapoor, who was heading Content and Marketing for the channel, has been elevated as Business Head. Both Ashutosh and Kapoor have been with the channel since its inception.

Commenting on his decision to move on, Ashutosh said, “I was given the mandate to set up a channel and this has been achieved. I now have the opportunity to head a larger project, and I have taken that.”

Ashutosh didn’t divulge more on his destination next maintaining that it was still premature to talk about it.

Meanwhile, Kapoor is looking forward to his new role at Filmy. He said, “I'm extremely excited about the new role, especially because the channel is buzzing with activity right now, with ‘Guru’ and ‘Bathroom Singer’ flagging off what promises to be a great year ahead of us. The marketplace is competitive but Filmy has managed to create a strong brand. The challenge now is to steer the Filmy brand towards more viewership and revenue.”
