BharatMatrimony to observe April 14 as Matrimony Day

Matrimony portal BharatMatrimony will celebrate April 14 as Matrimony Day – a day to promote the concept of matrimony by spreading awareness about the benefits of matrimony. The portal has been recognised by Limca Book of Records for the highest number of marriages online.

With changing times and lifestyle demands, matrimony has become an affected institution. The sacred matrimony bond between man and woman is now seen as a threat to individual right and freedom. This special day aims to encourage young people to give more thought to the concept of matrimony and how it would serve as the bedrock of society’s cultural fabric. A special website, www.matrimonyday.org, has been launched to drive the essence of matrimony.

While announcing the Matrimony Day, Murugavel Janakiraman, Founder and CEO of BharatMatrimony, said, “We are extremely proud of the fact that we have helped millions of people find a life partner since 1997. In fact, we began our journey to unite people in the eternal bond of matrimony on April 14. Matrimony Day encourages people to get married and experience the joys of matrimony. Matrimony Day is the first step in our progress towards creating healthier relationships.”

“We have special days to mark love, to remember our parents, and a Matrimony Day will be an apt endeavour to promote the spirit of matrimony in a country where marriages are held sacred. We are in discussions with various business associates to make this a bigger movement,” Murugavel added.
