‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ opens with a 5.4; Sony at number three for two weeks

After a lull, things are looking up for Sony as ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ and newly introduced fiction shows have helped the channel be part of the top three Hindi GECs for two weeks in a row. As per data released by TAM Media Research (C&S 4+, Hindi speaking markets), Sony has collected a total of 215 GRPs this week and retained the No. 3 spot.

The latest season of KBC has opened with a rating of 5.3 TVR (C&S 4+) in the three HSM metros. For the same market, KBC first season had got an opening rating of 11.1 TVR, the rating for Season 2 was 18.5 TVR, while the third season had opened with a rating of 11.3 TVR.

YRF TV debut below expectations; media planners hopeful of better performance

The 5 shows produced by Yash Raj Films (YRF) for Sony Entertainment Television were launched to strengthen the weekend time band for the channel and to increase the channel’s popularity. While the channel promoted the shows extensively, they don’t seem to be a hit with the viewers yet as the numbers are far from satisfactory.
