Star Plus announced the launch of its app for iPhone and iPad in India and over 120 countries around the world. With this, Star Plus claims to have become India’s first GEC to make an entry into the iPad, iPhone zone. This initiative will make entertainment content available on-the-go.
The merger of the IRS and NRS led to the formation of Readership Studies Council of India (RSCI). The RSCI would have 10 members from both the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) and the Media Research User’s Council (MRUC). The ABC and MRUC have nominated these members. Lynn de Souza, Chairman & CEO, Lintas Media Group, is expected to be first Chairperson of the RSCI.
“We are proud to be in print at this moment, because of the credibility of the medium and the way it is being run. We are not averse to television, but we are not getting into television for another four to five years,” says Sanjay Gupta, CEO and Editor, Jagran Group.

In a strategic content alliance, STAR India and Reliance Broadcast Network Ltd have joined hands to leverage their brand offerings. Their first such joint property – ‘Big Star Entertainment Awards’ – will be aired on Star Plus on December 31, 2010 at 10 pm.
