Starcom IP, the full service digital marketing practice of Starcom MediaVest Group, has relocated Suyesh Shankar from Singapore to India as National Strategy Director. Shankar, who took charge from April 6, is now based in Mumbai. He will be working with Starcom client management teams and lead the digital strategy for all clients, besides continuing to work on key regional digital clients. Speaking to exchange4media on Shankar’s role, Pushkar Sane, Chief Digital Officer North and South Asia for Starcom MediaVest Group, said, “From the consumers’ standpoint it is what role would it play in the consumer’s life. Suyesh is going to drive the entire strategy work, knowing what the clients’ objectives and needs are, and then developing the fiscal strategy around the key digital platforms like social media, mobile, search, video and so on. The whole idea behind this move is that India is a very strong and important market, everyone is talking about India being a growth market.” At Starcom IP Singapore’s office, Shankar was leading digital strategy across key clients, including Oracle, Samsung and Singapore Tourism Board. He has been actively engaged with the digital space since its inception in India and has over 11 years’ experience across Internet Marketing and Technology Implementation. He previously worked at digitally focused clients like Dell and Samsung in India.
