Conde Nast Traveler ties up with India Today Group for advertising, marketing in South Asia
India Today Group has entered into a tie-up with Conde Nast Traveler, US edition, to address the entire spectrum of advertising related issues including marketing, sales and relationship management for the American publication. Under the tie-up, India Today Group will address the advertising potential for Conde Nast Traveler in South Asia, including India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Maldives and Bangladesh.
Confirming this development, Ashish Bagga, CEO, India Today Group, said, âIndia as a country provides diversity which no country can offer across the world. We already have an experience of the advertising potential in the travel domain as we publish India Today Travel Plus, a travel magazine. It therefore gives us an edge in addressing the advertising potential of a premium travel magazine in the South Asia region.â
Upbeat about the partnership, Bagga said, âItâs a natural fit for us as our domain expertise, philosophy and quality standards are in perfect sync.â
Bagga however declined to divulge details on any numbers that this association would bring to the India Today Group. All he said was that the association would bring in more business for the group and add value to its clients. Also, it would help in giving their advertisers a wider platform.
It may be recalled that Conde Nast Traveler sometime back took on Alex Kuruvilla as Consultant. Kuruvilla has been an ex-Managing Director of MTV Networks.
Conde Nast Traveler, US edition, is considered to be the world's most authoritative travel magazine. It has a circulation of 782,551 copies (ABC, December 2005) with 96 per cent of its circulation coming from subscriptions. Nearly 75 per cent of its readers belong to the top management/professional/managerial category. The median asset value of its readers is US$ 1,440,201 with a median household income of US$ 143,190.
Lisa Hughes, Vice-president and Publisher, Conde Nast Traveler, said, âWe are proud to be working with such a prestigious media group who appreciate our editorial excellence and credibility.â
She added that the association with India Today Group would strongly position the brand amongst potential customers in India.
Conde Nast Traveler has won six national magazine awards and is the only travel publication to have won the highest honour in magazine publishing. It is published by Conde Nast Publications Inc.
