Changes at NewsX: Arup Ghosh exits; new identity to be launched soon

Perhaps the first major development after INX News found new ownership took place at the organisation on April 24, 2009, when it was announced that Arup Ghosh, Head of News Room, would be exiting the company with immediate effect.

Also, the transition period, where Vynsley Fernandes was working with the INX News management, is over and Fernandes, too, would head out of the organisation. Fernandes, who is an INX Media resource, was deputed for the ‘settling in’ period of the new management.

An official mail sent to the INX News team on April 24, 2009, stated, “Mr Vynsley Fernandes, who was so far acting as the Operational Head of the company, as a part of the arrangement with INX Media, will no longer be available to work with INX News. Vynsley would be working with the respective persons in Operations to hand over the charge and will be coordinating with Mr Vinay Chhajlani till the completion of the same. We hope to complete the same latest by April 30, 2009.”

NewsX is currently in the process of working on its new identity. While no official comments were forthcoming on the development, sources informed that the new look was expected to be unveiled in a month’s time.

As is known, Indi Media Company Pvt Ltd, a newly formed company by Vinay Chhajlani, CEO of Naidunia and Founder of Webdunia, and Jehangir Pocha, former editor of Businessworld, had bought over the 100 per cent stake in INX Media. All previous owners, including Indrani Mukerjea and Peter Mukerjea, had exited the company following this move.
