The International Festival of Creativity – Cannes Lions – has announced the addition of Mobile as a new awards section for the 2012 Festival. Tom Eslinger, Digital Creative Director of Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide, will preside over the Mobile Lions jury in its inaugural year.
It is always a struggle for advertisers to engage their audience in an entertaining and effective way. The session on ‘What advertisers want from magazine media’, saw some industry leaders discussing how creativity drove effectiveness and stressed how magazines needed to take numbers, put a value to them, and monetize them.
The organisers of Cannes Lions have announced that the event would be changing its strapline from ‘The International Advertising Festival’ to ‘The International Festival of Creativity’. The move reflects the transformation of Cannes Lions over the last few years from being a celebration of creative excellence in advertising to now reflecting creative excellence in all forms of communication.
