With more and more big corporates relying on small and medium size agencies, there has been an altogether new trend shaping up in the Indian advertising arena. One such example of confidence winning comes up with Gurgaon-based Two hmp Communications.
The two-year-old agency – brainchild of Pulak Chakraborty, a former General Manager at RK Swami\BBDO and McCann, enjoys an array of accounts including Buddy Davis, Pesco Soaps, Jupiter Pan Lingerie, TCI Transportation, Cossa Bella, Calcutta-based Heavens Garden, DSR Orna Ville of Mumbai and kid’s toys major Leo. The agency, with an employee base of 17 people, is targeting a turnover of over Rs 8 crore in the running fiscal and has plans to set up an outfit in Mumbai.
A veteran advertising professional with over two decades of exposure to the industry, Chakraborty felt there was a change in the mindset of the client. “Unlike yesteryears when only big agencies could bag big accounts, small and medium-sized agencies are getting good accounts these days,” he said, adding: “Agencies like ours deliver good work and look at things with a fresh perspective which, at times lacks in biggies. Added to this our client servicing is also good.”
However, there are more of such instances. Interestingly, just a few days back exchange4media.com reported about Subrato Chakraborty’s start-up Brand Curry and, while dwelling on the story behind his agency, Chakraborty as well expressed similar realisation about the shift in the mindset. Brand Curry has also successfully roped in an impressive array of FMCG accounts.
