Arindam Sengupta made TBWA\India’s Chennai Branch Head

TBWA\India has appointed Arindam Sengupta as Vice-President and Branch Head for its Chennai operations. Sengupta will replace Amarnath Pingalay, the outgoing head of Chennai. Sengupta has been with TBWA for over five years and has successfully led the Disruption charge for clients in Bangalore.

Commenting on Sengupta’s appointment, Vishal Ahluwalia, Senior Vice President - South India, TBWA\India, said, “This is a significant development for Chennai, where we have very important clients like Henkel and Sify & Style Spa, among others. Sengupta’s move comes as part of a larger exercise, wherein we are consciously creating a richer talent base in the South to meet the needs of our clients. It is only logical for Sengupta to be moved to an important location like Chennai that is growing in stature and has a rich pool of network and non-network clients.”

Shiv Sethuraman, CEO, TBWA\India Group, said, “While we are sorry to see Amarnath go, the bench strength in the management team is excellent and there can be no better candidate than Sengupta for the role. He has done a great job in Bangalore, is respected and liked by all his clients and within the agency. He is a great guy, and I am certain Chennai will benefit from his arrival.”

In his career spanning over 12 years, Sengupta has worked with Lowe, Saatchi & Saatchi and Mudra, and has handled clients like Unilever, Tata Tea, Indus League, Apple, Spar, and Gold Plus, among others.
