Rohit Misra bids adieu to Rediffusion Y&R as President

In February 2009, Rediffusion Y&R appointed Rohit Misra as its president has called it a quit at the agency. Misra was appointed as Rediffusion Y&R’s President filling in Mahesh Chauhan’s post his elevation as Group CEO. At Rediffusion Y&R, Misra’s responsibilities included leading the creative agency in India as well as its Sri Lankan operations. He was based out of Mumbai.

Confirming the news, Chauhan, Group CEO, Rediffusion Y&R, said, “Yes, Rohit Misra has put in his papers. However there are no plans to replace him yet.”

Prior to being made the President, Misra was CEO for Rediffusion Y&R’s Sri Lanka operations, where he had successfully revamped and recharged the agency there. He had also led it to partner the hugely acclaimed launch of Airtel in the Sri Lankan market.

Misra has extensive experience in leading agencies, having worked with Euro RSCG Worldwide as Regional Vice President – Middle East. Prior to Middle East, Misra was a founding member, shareholder and member of the Management Committee of Euro RSCG when the group commenced its operations in India in 1996. He had set up and managed the Delhi office of the company.

Misra began his career in India in 1989 with Ogilvy & Mather Direct, working on Direct Marketing Strategy and implementation for clients like American Express, Xerox, British Airways and ITC Hotels.
