IPL 2018 auction is almost here and how could we ignore one of India’s most successful sporting events! This week we put the Spotlight on What Makes Mumbai Indians A Successful Brand? This was the first part of an IPL series around discussing brands associations and value of each IPL team ahead of the scheduled auction. Essence, the data-driven global agency and part of GroupM, appointed Sonali Malaviya as the Vice President, Client Partner. She will lead the Google relationship, based in the Gurgaon office. R/GA veteran Nick Law was named Chief Creative Officer of Publicis Groupe and President of Publicis Communications.

He will have the reach and authority over the entire Groupe creative community in a seamless way. Law will report directly to Arthur Sadoun, Chairman & CEO of Publicis Groupe. Last year in October, the Information and Broadcasting ministry decided to review the channel slot auction of Doordarshan’s DD FreeDish. The ministry asked the broadcaster to suspend e-auctioning of slots on DD Free Dish until further notice. Though the order is still pending with the ministry and no official dates has been announced so far but the industry is expecting the new business model from Prasar Bharati will be out in the month of March or April 2018. Shubhranshu Singh, Executive Vice President and Head Marketing Star Sports has stepped down from his role. Singh has played key role in strategizing and executing various successful marketing campaigns for the channel including entire Pro Kabaddi marketing strategy.
