TV Today rebrands its radio operations

Ending all speculations, TV Today is rebranding its FM station Meow FM from September 19, 2010. It is learnt that Meow FM would be renamed as either Dhak Dhak or Oye post the rebranding.

When contacted, TV Today officials refused to divulge any details. The question on everyone’s mind is whether the focus of the FM station would still be women-centric after the rebranding.

It may be recalled that Meow FM had see two top level exits – Anil Srivatsa, COO of Radio Today Broadcasting, which operates Meow FM, had quit the company in June 2009; Navin Pirshali had put in his papers as CTO in April 2010. On the other hand, Vehrnon Ibrahim joined Meow FM as National Programming Head on January 4, 2010.

Recent RAM numbers do not show any significant growth in the listenership of Meow FM. It remains to be seen whether the rebranding exercise will make any difference to Meow FM’s listenership.
