Radio One Chennai celebrates first birthday with 365 gifts and more

Radio One Chennai is turning one on January 10. In order to celebrate the first anniversary, the station has lined up some interesting and entertaining activities for its listeners. Radio One is a JV between BBC and Mid-Day Multimedia.

To begin with, as a token of gratitude to its listeners for their unflinching support over one year, Radio One is giving away 365 gifts over a week starting January 9, on all its shows. Each of the gifts is meant to ensure listener gratification for the whole year. The 10-day long celebration will begin with Radio One thanking 365 lucky listeners by giving them gifts that they could use over a year, until the station’s second anniversary. Radio One is also organising a ‘Balloon Festival’ on Chennai’s Besant Nagar Beach on January 13. The radio station plans to make this an annual event and a perfect curtain raiser the Pongal festivities.

“Over 10 days, listeners can look forward to some exciting programmes and gifts. We are already No. 1 among our core target group of SEC A &B, in the age group of 20-35. In the year ahead, we are hopeful to grow at a faster pace and add more listeners,” said LV Navaneeth, Station Head, Radio One Chennai.

The first anniversary celebrations will conclude in early February with an on-ground event titled ‘Radio One Nite’.
