Radio Mirchi takes contest winners to Singapore

Radio Mirchi is ensuring that its listeners get to go places, literally. In keeping with its latest marketing strategy, the FM channel has tied up with Singapore Tourism Board for a contest wherein eight lucky Mirchi winners and some RJs have been flown to Singapore.

Elaborating on the contest, Hitesh Sharma, Station Director and VP, Radio Mirchi Mumbai, said, "We ran a contest everyday in our evening drive time show 'Bumper to Bumper' and winners were selected to fly with their favourite evening radio jockey on an all expense paid trip to Singapore."

Explaining Singapore Tourism Board's objective and expectations, Sharma said, "They wanted to use the radio to promote Singapore as preferred tourist destination for New Year celebrations. We feel that the client's objective has been met as we received an overwhelming response where more than 10,000 people took part at the eight Mirchi stations."

Along with the usual radio spots, the contest was also promoted through an outdoor broadcast of the show 'Bumper to Bumper', which is hosted by Tarun from Mahim, for the entire contest week, added Sharma.

This is the latest venture comes close on the heels of Radio Mirchi tying up with forthcoming movie 'Saalam-e-Ishq' and NGO Udaan. The station had tied up with 'Saalam-e-Ishq' for music exclusivity and interviews with the cast and crew of the movie. Mirchi had tied up with Udaan to spread the message of AIDS awareness during World AIDS Day on December 1.
