Titan plans to diversify into personal accessories

The Tata group watch company is now looking to diversify into the highly profitable personal accessories business -- like pens, leather wallets and spectacle frames, leveraging on its Titan brandname.

For the company, it would be the second phase in its diversification plans. It already has a presence in the designer jewellery segment, under the Tanishq brand. The latest diversification will take advantage of the company’s strong distribution network and better utilise its now under-used production capacity.

At present, Titan products are sold in over 1,400 cities in India through 5,500 outlets. Of these, 118 are exclusive World of Titan stores and 116 are multi-brand TimeZone outlets.
