Spenta Multimedia to publish Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council’s ‘Solitaire International’

Contract publisher Spenta Multimedia has been appointed by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) to publish its bi-monthly magazine, ‘Solitaire International’ from June 2008. The magazine is priced at Rs 150. With this, the number of publications in Spenta Multimedia’s portfolio has gone up to 21, which includes 17 custom publications, including Jetwings, and four newsstand magazines, including UK’s ‘Hair’ and ‘Marwar’.

Maneck Davar, Proprietor, Spenta Multimedia, said, “We are really excited about the prospect of working with the GJEPC to develop ‘Solitaire International’ into a magazine that will help the gem and jewellery industry in India to become more globally competitive. We will be working very closely with the GJEPC in ensuring that ‘Solitaire International’ serves as an aid and catalyst to making the industry a world leader.”

Sanjay Kothari, Chairman, GJEPC, said, “We have appointed Spenta Multimedia as our new publisher as we felt that Spenta would be able to partner us in expanding the scope of ‘Solitaire International’ in a manner that will interest more international players and retailers. With the appointment of Spenta, we will be taking ‘Solitaire International’ from being a bi-monthly to a monthly. By doing so, we aim at expanding the width and depth of the role the magazine plays in acting as a catalyst to the Indian gem and jewellery industry.”

The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council was set up by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry in 1966. It has, over the years, played a significant role in the evolution of the Indian gem and jewellery industry to its present stature. With 6,500 members throughout the country, the Council provides market information to its members regarding foreign trade inquiries, trade and tariff regulations, rates of import duties, and information about jewellery fairs and exhibitions. Since effective communication is the key to the GJEPC achieving its mission, the Council invests substantially in media channels to the global and local industry. One such communication medium is ‘Solitaire International’.
