Sakal Group wins global accolades with cutting-edge technology

Pune-based Sakal Group, in an effort towards managing its business and commercial processes better, has implemented an end-to-end media workflow solution from Siemens Information Systems.

Abhijit Pawar, Director, Sakal Group, in a press statement reiterates: “The solution we needed was not only to act as a strong backend system but also to provide an automated workflow for the production of a digital page.” He adds, saying that this Media Solution would also enable Sakal to strike a balance between creating better products and improving customer service while drastically cutting down on production costs.

The business solution selected and implemented by Siemens Information System in approximately eight months comprises of software sourced from the world's leading business solution provider SAP and technical solutions from PPI Media GmbH., Germany. In addition to this, Sakal has also implemented an editorial system designed by Sansui to complete the entire workflow across departments.

Some of the features of the solution implemented by Sakal Group are digital productions using advertising management software like SAP IS-Media with an online integration for planning, production and assembly with the PPI solution.

The statement further goes on to add that this implementation heralds the era of progress for the group and claims that the group has created history by being one of the first regional newspapers in Asia to implement solutions of this sort.

The group’s technology has also received accolades from the world over and invitations to showcase it across the world. The first of such invitations came from IFRA Conference at Singapore in July.

Sakal Group has recently inducted a fresh team of top-end media professionals in various functions to enhance this process. On the anvil is yet another initiative, ‘The Sakal Advertiser Development’ programme. This programme is being developed with learning’s across the globe to provide the advertiser an opportunity to maximise value and return on investments. This would see the advertising function be structured around the needs of the advertiser.
