IRS Q3 2011: TOI leads in Mumbai; HT firms up

TOI has maintained its lead among English dailies in Mumbai, while HT has strengthened its position as the No 2 paper as per the RS Q3 2011 results.

Mumbai has been divided into four zones – Mumbai City, Mumbai West Suburb, Mumbai East Suburb and Navi Mumbai.

In all the four zones, The Times of India leads the pack of English dailies. The paper as recorded the highest Average Issue Readership (AIR) in Mumbai West Suburb at 576,000, followed by an AIR of 431000 in Navi Mumbai. TOI has recorded an AIR of 264,000 each in Mumbai City and Mumbai East Suburb.

Hindustan Times has further consolidated its position as the No 2 paper in Mumbai. Navi Mumbai is where HT has recorded its highest AIR of 250,000, followed by 195,000 in Mumbai West Suburb, 166 in Mumbai East Suburb and 140 in Mumbai City.

DNA has recorded an AIR of 225,000 in Mumbai West Suburb, 213,000 in Navi Mumbai, 130,000 in Mumbai City and 111,000 in Mumbai East Suburb.

Mumbai West Suburb is where Mumbai Mirror has recorded its highest AIR of 272,000. This is followed by an AIR of 223,000 in Navi Mumbai, 140,000 in Mumbai City and 119 in Mumbai East Suburb.

For Mid Day, the highest AIR is seen in Mumbai West Suburb at 115,000. This is followed by Navi Mumbai with an AIR of 95,000, Mumbai East Suburb with an AIR of 71,000 and Mumbai City with an AIR of 62.
