INS Elections 09: Ram Reddy is Prez; Kundan Vyas is Dy Prez & Ashish Bagga is Vice Prez

The Indian Newspapers Society (INS) has just concluded its annual general meeting. Following the AGM, Deccan Chronicle’s Ram Reddy has been elected the President of the INS. He takes on the reigns from Bombay Samachar’s Hormusji Cama. Vyapar Janmabhoomi’s Kundan Vyas is elected Deputy President of the INS, and India Today Group’s Ashish Bagga has been elected the Vice President. Hindustan Times Patna’s Rakesh Sharma is the Honorary Treasurer of the new term of the INS. V Shankaran is the officiating Secretary General of the Society.

Hormusji Cama has been lauded on various occasions for the kind of work that the INS has been able to under his Presidency. Some of the biggest initiatives, including the World Newspaper Congress being hosted in India and the coming together of the National Readership Studies Council and the Media Research Users’ Council to establish a single robust readership study are some of the initiatives undertaken under the leadership of Cama as INS President.

The list of to-do is yet a long one for the new President as well, as the INS has embarked on various initiatives for the cumulative growth of the Indian newspaper industry. Watch this space to know more on what the office bearers have in mind for the term ahead.
