India Today-Tamil to celebrate 15th Anniversary with awards for Tamil cinema icons

On the completion of 15 years of its existence in Tamil Nadu, India Today is celebrating its Anniversary by honouring 15 icons of Tamil Cinema. The award ceremony will take place on Saturday, January 29, 2005 in Tamil Nadu, exclusive telecast of which can be seen on Raj TV on February 5, 2005, at 9.00pm.

Commenting on the forthcoming event, says Ashish Bagga, ED & Publishing Director, India Today, “It is the 15th Anniversary of India Today-Tamil. And in order to celebrate this landmark, we are doing a series of events of which the first is happening on 29th January 2005, in Chennai.”

And talking about the award ceremony Bagga added, “We had a panel of judges, who deliberated upon the nominees and after a scientific screening process, the winners were selected.”

Chakra Gold Tea and Helvetica are sponsoring the show with Raj TV being the official media partner. Shankar B, National Sales and Marketing Head of Raj TV say, “We are pleased to be associated with the India Today Group. India Today is pioneer in print medium just as Raj TV is a big entity in Tamil Nadu as far as television is concerned. We look forward to more such events and associations. And for people, this will be a spectacular event as a show of this echelon is happening for the first time in Tamil Nadu.”

The expert panel will comprise personalities to the ilk of Film Producer Boney Kapoor, writer and journalist, Vaasanthi, Anita Patnam and Srinidhi Chidambaram among rest.
