Dainik Bhaskar gets on to the mobile platform to fortify digital presence

IMCL (I Media Corporation Ltd), the digital arm of Dainik Bhaskar Corp Ltd (DBCL), has launched a mobile version of its website dainikbhaskar.com. Now users can access news on the move by visiting m.bhaskar.com.

Apparently, almost 2 crore people of the country use the Internet on mobile phones and IMCL expects its new initiative to be helpful for them. Speaking on the launch of this service, Gyan Gupta, Business Head, IMCL Digital, said, “Everybody has a mobile phone these days and the user wants to be updated with the latest news. Keeping this growing trend in mind, we have decided to launch this service.”

Speaking on the promotional activity for this new mobile service by the group, he said, “We will be using various mechanisms to promote the product in line with our strategy.”

DBCL has been quite active in the digital domain. It can be recalled that in June this year, the group had launched real time reporting model, which gives its reporters direct access to update the website from anywhere. In the month of August, IMCL had announced the launch of a news website in English. The new website from IMCL, also available in Hindi and Gujarati languages, is said to focus more on local news. This new initiative by the group is expected to further strengthen its digital presence.
