Chitralekha Group's Mitrajit Bhattacharya is new President of AIM

Chitralekha Group President and Publisher Mitrajit Bhattacharya has been elected as the new President of Association of Indian Magazines (AIM). He takes charge from Tarun Rai, CEO, Worldwide Media.

R Rajmohan, Publisher, Open magazine is the new Vice-President, while B Srinivasan, Managing Director, Vasan Publications is the new General Secretary. Pradeep Gupta, CMD, Cybermedia will continue to be the Treasurer.?

Talking to exchange4media,? Mitrajit Bhattacharya said, “I have been associated with AIM ?as an office bearer ?for ?last ?past four years and ?hence, ?it is a gradual transition. ?Whatever we? have been doi?ng? as a group?,? I would like to continue doing that. ?H?aving said that, there are a couple of focus areas that we have?, first ?is ?to get more member?s? on board, ?particularly from the South and the East.”

He further said, “Second focus area is to step up the developmental work, which as an Association we are supposed to do. You will see a lot more work that will come up in terms of cutting edge proprietary research, which AIM is going to present to the market, which would help the magazine industry as a whole. Apart from these, we will continue to take up issues that we are confronted with on a regular basis – be it with distribution or liaison with the Government or RNI.”
