Zoom Entertainment Network appoints Avinash Kaul as CEO

Avinash Kaul has joined Times Television Network as Chief Executive Officer of Zoom Entertainment Network Limited. Prior to this, for a brief period, Kaul was the CEO of SaharaOne where he headed three channels- SaharaOne, Filmy and Firangi.

Kaul has close to 12 years of experience in the television business. He started his career as a Media Planner with HTA Fulcrum, and then moved onto Discovery Communications and Star India. After that he spent a substantial amount of time at NDTV Media where he was handling diverse portfolios of Operations, Marketing, and also headed their Consulting Division after which he moved to Sahara One.

Speaking on the development, Sunil Lulla, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer Times Television Network, said, “Over the last few years Zoom has become the one-stop-shop for Bollywood entertainment be it news, reviews, countdowns, music or interviews with stars. As we embark to scale newer heights, Avinash with his experience across various aspects of television will play a crucial role in ensuring that Zoom becomes the only port of call for all Bollywood lovers. We will also leverage his experience and talent to grow the strength and franchise of the Times Television Network”.

Prior to Kaul, Zoom was headed by Suresh Bala who had also recently moved out of the company. In 2009, the Times group clubbed its Television business under one entity called Times Television Network which includes channels such as Times Now, ET Now, Zoom and Movies Now.
