Zee Turner appoints Ten Sports’ Arun Poddar as CEO

Ten Sports’ Arun Poddar has been appointed CEO of Zee-Turner Ltd. Announcing the development, Laxmi Goel, Chairman, Zee-Turner, said, “Beginning mid-April, Arun Poddar will head Zee-Turner operations and will lead the company in the direction that has been successfully established by Siddharth Jain, formally CEO of Zee-Turner.”

As CEO, Poddar will play a strategic role and will work closely with Goel to support the business growth of the bouquet. At Ten Sports, he was Vice-President (Distribution). Previously, he had worked with India TV and ESPN-STAR Sports.

He further said, “Since the inception of Zee-Turner, Siddharth has been a terrific team leader and manager, and has played a prominent role in the development and the growth of the Zee-Turner business. He was seconded by Turner as a key player for the launch of the joint venture, and having successfully taken the partnership to the next level, will return to Turner.”

Zee-Turner Ltd is a distribution joint venture company established in February 2002, wherein all Zee and Turner channels are sold and marketed collectively to cable operators and MSOs across the country. The Zee-Turner bouquet distributes the channels of parent companies (Zee Ltd and Turner India) as well as that of third parties. It offers the largest number of channels, including the flagship channels Zee TV, Zee News, Zee Cinema, Zee Café, Cartoon Network, POGO, CNN International, CNBC and other regional channels.
