Zee News Ltd is all set to have a CEO. Though channel officials refused to divulge any details at present, sources close to the situation inform that talks have reached the final stage with Harish Doraiswamy. He is currently CEO of Mercury Travels (Oberoi Group).

The new CEO would report to Zee News Director, Laxmi Goel. An official statement on the appointment is expected in a week’s time.

Sources further informed that the new CEO’s role at Zee News would be to steer the growth of the company at a time when the media entity is all set to increase its foothold on regional language channels in it next business development phase.

Doraiswamy took on the role of CEO of Mercury Travels earlier this year. Prior to this, he had spent considerable time with adidas India as Director-Marketing, and then as COO. Thereafter, he joined IMG India in 2004, where his mandate was to oversee business development for the company.
