Vynsley Fernandes to move out of INX Media

Vynsley Fernandes, Group Director - Network Operations, INX Media, has put in his papers. Fernandes, who is serving his notice period till early 2010, has been with the INX television network since its inception in 2007, where he was instrumental in setting up the infrastructure, facilities and network operations for INX Media and INX News. Regarding his next move, Fernandes said that he had a couple of options in hand and was considering his options.

For a brief time, Fernandes was also the Chief Operating Officer at INX News and has continued to manage operations at INX Media after the sale of INX News. According to Fernandes, “INX Media has done well this year and has achieved a robust turnover.” He was also quite confident that they had a very strong second line of management and were in a position to step into the position he would be leaving vacant.

Fernandes has been in the media space for the last 20 years and has helped set up nine channels in his career span. He began his career in the early 90’s as a journalist with Plus Channel (set up by Amit Khanna). He then moved to CNN Studios as a journalist, but quickly moved to operations. In 1998, he joined Star as Vice President, Broadcast Operations and Engineering, and in 2002, he moved to Star News as Operations Director. Tata Sky was his next destination in 2005, where he was the Principal Consultant. He had helped in launch Tata Sky in 2007.
