Varun Kohli to join Deccan Chronicle Holdings arm Sieger Solutions as VP-Revenue

Varun Kohli has put in his papers after spending three and a half years with Amar Ujala. Kohli was recently promoted as Associate Vice-president at Amar Ujala. He is joining Sieger Solutions as VP-Revenue (All India). Sieger Solutions Ltd is a fully-owned subsidiary of Deccan Chronicle Holdings. It was launched in September this year to take care of marketing, sales and 360-degree activities for the group.

Kohli will be taking up his new assignment in late December and will be based in Delhi. He will report to Debraj Tripathy, CEO, Sieger Solutions. Commenting on Kohli’s appointment, Tripathy said, “In Varun we found the best fit in terms of experience and enthusiasm. We are extremely happy to have him on board. It’s not strictly a print sales role. He will not only be involved in selling the print publications, but will also create baskets along with 360 media.”

Kohli said, “Deccan Chronicle is a very aggressive brand doing very well in both Andhra Pradesh and Chennai markets, and Asian Age is also a very well reputed brand across the country. Working with such a company will definitely be a great learning experience for me.”

Speaking on his stint with Amar Ujala, Kohli said, “It was a very satisfying experience for me. I personally learnt a lot under the able guidance of Atul Maheshwari. It was a pleasure seeing Amar Ujala reach such great heights.”

A management graduate from SIMS, Ghaziabad, Kohli has over 13 years’ experience in media sales. He has worked across organisations like Indian Express, Hindustan Times, Dainik Bhaskar and Amar Ujala.

Meanwhile, Sieger Solutions is also on the lookout for adding more people to its team. Said Tripathy, “We are in the process of strengthening the team across markets. We are recruiting a few more senior resources, some of whom will be based in Hyderabad, where Sieger Solutions is headquartered.”
